Easy Cheese Log1/2 pound Velveeta cheese, cubed 10 ounces sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded 8-ounces cream cheese Mix the three cheeses together. Add: 1 teaspoon garlic salt 1 teaspoon onion salt 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional) Gradually add spices to cheese mixture. Mix in: 1 cup pecans, shelled and chopped Roll into 2 log shapes. Shape into balls if you prefer. Roll logs in 1/8 cup paprika and 1/4 cup chopped pecans. Wrap in plastic wrap. Chill. Serve with crackers. |

Holiday Eggnog Bread3 cups flour 3/4 cup sugar 1 Tablespoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 1 1/2 cup eggnog 2 Tablespoons butter, melted Optional: 3/4 cup chopped walnuts or 3/4 cup mixed, candied fruit |
| Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and
nutmeg.
Slowly add eggnog and melted butter to dry ingredients. Blend well. If desired, stir in nuts and fruits. Butter a loaf pan. Pour batter into loaf pan. Bake and 350 degrees F for 60 minutes. Cool on wire rack out of pan. |
Holiday Potpourri--Makes the House Smell Great--(Not for Eating)3 cinnamon sticks 3 bay leaves 1/4 cup whole cloves Grated lemon peel or 1/2 lemon Grated orange peel or 1/2 orange 16 ounces water |
| Add water to small pot on stove or use commercial potpourri container. Add small handful of potpourri mixture. Heat and simmer during the Holidays. Add new water as needed. Replace with fresh potpourri mixture after a few days of use. DO NOT LEAVE UNATTENDED ON STOVE. |
